The minute he touched the phone, knew you called. As soon as he hit the gas, darn thing stalled. Thinking north on 4th, but it's 3rd. Heard the beats and chords, missed the words. Maybe that's just how it was. No reason why just because. The curtain blocked it from him. It wasn't what might have been.
The way it was stacking up, was just no good. Needed to do the things he knew he could. Started looking round to find his place. Came as a big surprise, it was his own face. The curtain lifted for him. He saw how it might have been. He thought he was in the groove, but then it moved. Bottoms Up.
Write himself a poem, carve some wood. Try to do the right thing or it's no good. Soon as hit hits a nail, dam things in. You just can't believe the shape he's in. The world is spinning around. Never knows up from down. Takes it all in his stride. Just wants to have a nice ride.
He started to love the groove for the way it moves. Bottoms Up.
