about

Released in 2004, Time To Move continued where Is It left off with a wide spectrum of jazz styles. Bottoms Up starts things off with a bari sax lick leading into Rochelle's vocal. Jolly might be the happiest 7/4 tune yet written. While Homemade Juice lives up to it's name, the hypnotic Swim in 9/4 will leave you wishing for more. When I will embrace the hippy within and Sort Of is a rhumba, sort of. There's the Latin tinged My Secret Love and, Nellie's favorite, When Yuba Plays The Rhumba On The Tuba. Jerry's tune Vegetarian Pizza will have you swearing there's meat there. And then there's the lovely For Em. 9 of the 11 tunes are Gondwana originals.

about

Gondwana Jazz Band Minneapolis, Minnesota

Gondwana is a five-piece band of musicians who have been playing jazz together for over thirty years – long enough to take a tune to the edge without losing their footing.

Take a listen. Just when you think you know where they’re going, they take you somewhere else - deconstructing and reconstructing the continents of rhythm and sound.

Surprise, variety and originality are Gondwana’s trademarks.
